I’ve been missing the beautiful sunsets in Chiang Mai lately.. Not because I’m too busy to look outside my window, but because of the crazy smokey weather that’s been around for the past month. Every year, after the rainy season is over, farmers around Chiang Mai and neighboring countries (Burma, Laos and Cambodia) start burning [...]

Every once in a while, I go back through my archives to check out some photos and spend some time editing again. Photography is an endless learning process. Every week I learn something new. A new lighting technique, a different way to edit photos, a new idea.. It just doesn’t end. There is no mastering, [...]

Another fiery and dramatic sunset over the city of Chiang Mai in Thailand. Enjoy!

So I guess it’s no secret that I love sunset/sunrise shots. Luckily, I also have an amazing view from my window when I’m working on my desk. Now that the rainy season is over in Chiang Mai, we are having beautiful dramatic sunsets again. I have my tripod set up in my balcony, pointing towards [...]

There are times when you notice a beautiful scene, raise the camera to your eye, compose, adjust the exposure and click. Then you go home, upload your shot on your computer and stare at it.. And you find it just ‘perfect’ the way it is. I took this shot in the Netherlands, on a beach [...]

A beautiful shot of the setting sun behind the mountains around Chiang Mai in Thailand.

The rainy season shouldn’t be here yet, it usually starts late North of Thailand. However, cloudy skies and thunderstorms decided to invite themselves earlier in Chiang Mai, giving us beautiful skies and dramatic sunsets.

~~oOo~~ This is a shot of the “Super Moon” rising behind a hotel seen from my rooftop in Chiang Mai, North of Thailand. Yes.. This is a SUPER moon.. Did you expect anything else? Did you believe all the hype about the moon being so close to Earth it’ll appear monstrously big and bright and will probably [...]

~~oOo~~ I don’t have much to say on this photo. It was taken in the Netherlands, on a beach North of Amsterdam. Part of the beach was full of people walking around next to a lighthouse and children playing with their kites, building sandcastles or abandoning beach villas. The other part of the beach was [...]

~~oOo~~ This is a shot of the setting sun over the city of Chiang Mai this evening after I spent a whole day walking around town for a mini-photowalk with myself. It was a hot and slightly overcast day (thank you soft light) but it was a nice relief to see the sun set and [...]

~~oOo~~ For my 30th birthday, I decided to visit two countries that always made me dream: Ireland and Iceland. No need to mention how awesome my trip was and how I fell in love with both countries. They are truly some of the most ‘magical’ places on this planet. During my stay, I think I’ve [...]

Most photographers will tell you that the best time to take nice photos outdoors is during sunrise and sunset: The Golden Hour.

This is a place close to my heart.

It’s the village in Lebanon where I used to hang out every summer.

In the past few years, a big Real Estate Crisis has struck the world and many people were affected, losing all their money. The result was terrible and I could even feel the reach of the Crisis on a deserted beach North of Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. I mean… Even kids had to abandon their [...]

As the evening approached, I threw down the shovel I was using to dig a hole in the sand for the camp fire and grabbed my camera to wait by the sea for this picture: The last sunset of 2010. The past year was an awesome year, with many many highs and hardly any lows. [...]

~~oOo~~ As Fall is drawing close and already many Northern Hemisphere countries are buried under snow, I thought it’d be a good idea to post a last colorful fall-ish photo. This photo was taken in France, in a small town called Perigueux, East of Bordeaux. I’m actually cheating because, although it looks like a photo [...]

~~oOo~~ The Lighthouse at “Land’s End”. This is the lighthouse called Faro Cabo Fisterra in Galician language, located in Finisterra, the westernmost point in Spain, on a “mountain” called Monte Facho. Monte Facho was a sacred region since the prehistoric Celtic origins of Galicia. Legend has it that a hermit who lived near the site [...]

While many pilgrims were gathered on the last standing rock in Cabo Finisterra, watching the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean, I turned around and noticed those clouds creeping from behind. I climbed a few rocks further away to take a nice shot without many people showing up. An old woman was sitting there alone [...]

Finisterra (or Fisterra in Galician) is the furthest western tip of Spain, before the Atlantic Ocean. It comes from Fin (end) and Terra (Earth) and was actually thought to be the end of the world (the world used to be flat, remember?).

I had the occasion to visit Barcelona a few times during my travels. It’s a city I really like for its atmosphere, architecture and culture. It is difficult to get bored taking photos while wandering around the old streets and huge parks. This shot was taken while visiting the Parc the la Ciutadella with a few friends. [...]
