Located in the Latin Quarter in Paris, La Sorbonne is one of the most prestigious and well-known universities in France, housing several higher education and research institutions.
Originally, it was founded by Robert de Sorbon as a college in 1253 for theology students without money. The pope at that time approved of the idea, and it later became the University of Paris. Today, it is divided into 4 major public universities and also houses the Rectorate of Paris.
It also has a wide international reputation, with one branch in New York and another one in Abu Dhabi.
Now what I find the most striking, is the difference between education fees in France and in the US.
Being one of the best universities, it is still a public university and the yearly fee is the whooping amount of.. 300~400 euros.
Can I be reminded how much it costs to go to college in the US? At least in France, you don’t graduate with a huge amount of debt that you’ll have to repay for years.

If you’re already stressing out about Christmas gifts and need some ideas, why not purchase a Thailand themed calendar for your loved ones? I’ve created a new one with some of my best shots from this year. Click below if you’re interested!

Great shot, Paris is quite photogenic isn’t it? :)
