Rough River Lake, KY ~ USA

The artificial Rough River Lake in Kentucky, USA.

Last weekend I took a break away from Internet and went relaxing at the Rough River Lake in Kentucky, USA. It’s a 51,000 acre man-made reservoir after a dam was built on the Rough River for flood control.

We stayed in a beautiful cabin overlooking the lake, surrounded by nature. Main attractions here are chilling, relaxing, enjoying the silence, escaping chaos and watersports for the adventurous.

Quick Tips:

Try to use anchor points in your photos to make it interesting. Here, the canoe serves as an anchor point to the eye. The viewer first notices it then the eye scans the surroundings and gets back to the canoe. The anchor point here is even stronger because it is related to the lake in the background.

Wow, love the photo. You are so right about the anchor point. I looked at canoe straight away and then my eyes noticed the pink sky and clouds, before returning to the canoe.

Nice tip about the anchor point. I’ve found generally you frame your photos in an interesting/unique way.
