The musical scene in Chiang Mai is really good. There are many young bands playing in different bars every night. Some are really talented and others just make you want to rip your ears off and go drown in the moat.
I once went to a popular bar alone to chill out and maybe meet and socialize with some new travelers in town. In normal days, it’s packed with happy couples or groups of friends enjoying their drinks while the crazy bands play their tunes.
The band was scheduled for 9pm, I arrived there earlier to get a seat at 8.45pm. The place was empty.
I watched the band set up their instruments and start playing. The bar was still completely empty. It felt funny to be all alone in the whole bar sitting in front of a band playing just for you. I felt like a VIP. I even managed to clap alone after each song while exchanging awkward looks.
At least I had the occasion to take some moody portraits.

Quick Tips:
In low light situations, it’s best to increase your ISO and still keep a normal shutter speed (below 1/30s). Having noise appear on your photos is better than having blurry shots. Noise can always be removed or reduced with softwares during post-processing.
